All 911 calls made over a telecommunications device within the State of
Connecticut are directed to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). There are
currently 107 PSAPs as well as four (4) secondary PSAPs operating within the
state. In addition, several PSAPs transfer calls to non-secondary dispatch centers.
Each PSAP and secondary PSAP is staffed on a 24 hours per day, seven days a
week basis.
