Alpha Paging Agreement

  • QV has bought the software written to send alpha pages
  • QV will arrange for the software to be installed at other dispatch centers at their request
  • QV will update their database of pagers as new units are assigned for all centers.  We will then forward the updated files to other centers to load into their systems.
  • QV will maintain the master list of capcodes, assign new capcodes as they are requested and program all pagers at QV dispatch.
  • The fee for programming new pagers is $10/unit payable to QVEC Inc.
  • The fee for any changes to a pager capcoding is $5/unit payable to QVEC Inc.
  • QV and the requesting centers will make arrangements to deliver pagers to and from the centers.

Ø     Departments who purchase pagers may have them shipped to QV for programming.

Ø     QV will make available a list of all pager types and vendors to its best knowledge.  This information will be posted on our web site.

Ø     QV currently has software and programming kits for Motorola Advisor Gold Units and can come to your Station to program.

·        At the request of a chief of service, QV will page out messages to department members regarding meetings or trainings (reminders, changes or cancellations), or general fire department announcements.  Chiefs should forward this information to the dispatcher on duty between the hours of 8-4 preferably by email or fax.  Messages can also be called in by phone.  Non-emergency messages will be sent at the convenience of the dispatcher.

·        At the request of a chief of service, QV will page individuals for emergency or important messages of a fire department related nature.  These will be sent as soon as is possible by the dispatcher.
